Part 1 step 1

1) The reason they were burned was because the criticized the church and were called heretics.

2) "Be of good cheer, Master Ridley, and pla y the man, for we shall this day light such a candle in England as I trust by God's grace shall never be put out."

3) It is important to learn history so that we don’t repeat previous mistakes.

Step 2
The pictures of the Nazis burning books could of  inspired him to write this book because he realized that knowledge is power. If you take away our books, our knowledge you can get people to beleieve whatever you want. I think he used this book as a warning to future people that we can not repeat history, learn from our mistakes.

Step 3
        1) If people were involved or sympethetic towards the communist party.
2)I think it is wrong because i bet that some of these people that were blacklisted werent all communist.
        3) I think that it can happen again because people use sterotypes all the time to judge people and if a group of people are judged that way then it could happen all over again.
        4) I dont think he liked the idea of the government or people telling everyone what they have to be like and he wanted to speak out about his ideas.

  1. Do you believe, as Montag did, that Beatty wanted to die? If so, why do you think so?

I think he realy did want to die because he gave montag a flamethrower and made him burn stuff  thats speacil to him. when he still had this weapon Beatty insulted him and didn't even try to talk him out of it, he just said he was going to find out who and where Fabor is. beatty knew this would set Montag over the edge. Beatty was making a situation where Montag would react violently. This shows that Beatty did not care about his life even when he had a good job working as the Fire Chief.

Once Montag becomes a violent revolutionary, why does the government purposely capture an innocent man in his place instead of tracking down the real Montag? Might the government believe that Montag is no longer a threat?

They use the scapegoat because they want people to forget about Montag as soon as possiable. If they did not have a scape goat Montag would be on peoples minds and they would want to follow what was happening with him. This might make people look into it deaper and they might find somthing the government does not want them to know. If Montag out smarted the government it might make people question the government. We dont know if they are going to keep looking for him or just stop since they killed the scapegoat.

One suicide and one near-suicide occur in this book. One woman, who shuns books but loves TV and driving fast in her car, anesthetizes herself,; "We get these cases nine or ten a night," says the medical technician. Another woman, who cherishes her books, sets herself on fire with them; "These fanatics always try suicide," says the fire captain. Why would two people who seem to be so different from each other try to take their own lives? Why does suicide happen so frequently in Montag's society?"

The first mentioned is Mildred, Montag's Wife.  She has no knowledge and no meaningful relationshipsThis makes her unhappy and depressed.  It would seem that  there are many people who feel as Mildred does based on what the guys say that come to pump her stomach.  Mildred does not feel bad that she put Montag through the ordeal of finding her.  She uses tv as a replacement for the relationships that she does not have. the second women is the lady that montag and his crew burned on the fire call. this lady uses her books as subitutes for the relationships. she is equaly as unhappy as mildred because she cant live the life she wants. she is willing to die for her cause and mildred
  1. What do the firemen “do” for a job? According to pages 3-4, what does Montag think of his job?
In this universe instead of putting out fires, firemen start the fires to burn the books that people have keep from the goverment. He likes his job but once he talked to cloriese he isnt sure about a lot of things.

  1. During his conversation, Montag tells Clarisse that "You never wash it off completely" referring to the kerosene. What could this mean symbolically?
It could mean that when you burn the books or when they burned the old lady that you will never able to forget what you did. the kerosene might represent the guilt he feels for the destrustion that he is responciable for. As well as the knowledge that he was reponsiable for taking someones life.

Who is Mildred's "family"? How does she spend her days? How does she fall asleep at night?

mildreds family are the many charaters on the three wall in her parlor. She spends her days in the parlor interacting with the make beleive charaters of various shows. she memorizes lines in a script so she can interject herself into the drama. she can hear them but they can not  hear her. like all of ther relationships it is one sided. one might say that she is addicted to watching the parlor walls. at night she blocks out thoughts by going to sleep with a seashell ear peice in her ear. mildred is never alone with her thoughts. we know mildred doesnt like her thought because she overdoses either accidently or on purpose. the reader dosent know for sure but can only guess.either way mildred takes lots of pills so she doesnt have hear her thoughts.
